Setup and tool to make a 2-Point Level adapter for the mini level when using the Rotary Chuck. I saw something similar out there, but after searching, I realized I could make this myself. Since I went through the trouble, I'll share so you do not have to! This is for tumblers/water bottles where whole wrap designs are being placed across the transition of a cup. if you are simply engraving the upper or lower portions, this may not be necessary.
Simply cut and remove from the M1. Ready to use. I am not 100% familiar with tolerances for the level's length. This model is based on the one I have on hand. Adjustments may need to be made for fit.
I'm also considering cutting from 6mm Basswood to allow for more material to grab the level. However this works good enough for now.
As you can see with tumblers with a transition, there's two sections that dont align well. The level is meant to bridge the transition and allow for an end to end level.
When I setup the tumblers, I have been working to ensure the tumbler is square within the M1. I have a miter square I use to help with my adjustment. A plain square or even a combination square will work. But I place one edge against the side of the machine, and run the Rotary base along the square. Then ensure that the red dot lands on the top of the radius of the cup.
After ensuring alignment, I remove the square and add the roller accessory to the end of the cup.
Place the level across the top of the cup, and adjust the roller until the level is centered.
Take height measurements at the ends of the cup and the midpoint of the transition, average and use the value for your height settings.
Hope this helps with cup setups.
