Dollar Tree or Dollar Stores are a great source for small boxes and organizers. These are ideal for projects with your laser. In this tutorial I'll walk you through engraving a small box we will use to hold sunglasses.

Step1: Determine Box Dimensions
Our first task is to determine the dimensions of the box we are engraving on. Once we know this, I like to draw a simple shape that best matches the object or surface we are engraving on. For this a simple rectangle will work well.
Step2: Develop Design
Next, we can develop or design. For this project, I am simply adding the label for what we will store in the box and some images to decorate.
Step3: Settings
The settings are for the D1 5W laser. You may need to adjust the settings for your laser configuration.
Be sure to follow all the safety guidelines for your laser and always wear personal protective equipment when the laser is in operation.
Step4: Set up the laser
Depending upon the size of the box being engraved, you may need to use risers for your engraver. Try to ensure the box is leveled and secured to the work surface below the engraver.
