Would you like to develop your own game and need a customized cube? Try this project and adjust it to your needs!
When I had the idea to build my own cube for self-designed games, I wanted to have a design that uses the same part on all 6 sides of the cube, so that you can assemble the cube afterwards without any problems and without instructions.
As always, I use Sketchup Make for this. The shape of the part is so simple that you can design it in any drawing program. I then export the DXF file so that I can use it in XTool Creative Space.
In XTool Creative Space I can now perfectly add images for my story cube. As shown in the picture, simply select any shape. Copy and paste is of course also very easy with the 6 shapes, so you can also cut out two or more cubes at the same time.
Drag the image to the appropriate size and don't forget to select the engraving process in the settings. You can see my settings above!
If you use a material that is slightly thicker or slightly thinner than 3 mm, this is also no problem! You can adjust the size of your shapes relatively easily. Just try out a bit here!
In the end, there may be a bit of material sticking out, which you can then saw off or sand down!
Have fun with the project!
