First of all, open the blank template in XCS, I left it big on purpose so it's easier to operate

Click on the image button to import the picture that You are going to put on Your wanted poster, resize, modify, etc 

As best results I found myself to use the “comic 2” filter(I hope it's the correct one since I don't have the XCS english version, but You can see it from the pic) and as for the previous step play a little with greyscale and other setting to achieve the results You like the most!

Now You can name Yourself or Your friend as a terrifing pirate! And You can add so much or less value to the bounty! I used the default “dancing script” but suit Yourself with the one You prefer the most!

And finally, the moment of truth! I set the file with the default settings to be suited for everyone, I usually change the settings a little, depending of the quality of the material.

For my prototype I used 3mm basswood plywood with the following settings:

• Frame and hole, laser cut, 100%power and 10mm/sec speed
• Image engraving, 40%power and 120mm/sec speed

I used the default settings for the name and bounty but after I discovered that it engraved too light, so I recommend to do some test and use the settings that suits You the best!

All the process took me about 5 minutes because I left it big for the “how-tos” purpose, usually I do them a little smaller, like 5x3cm and adjust the hole size at 2.5mm for the pin to go through.
