Information

      Build your Fatherday´s gift
Men like to put things together so your gift can have some of that too :)
My first project with 0 wood scraps :)
The cup and base plate have a 1mm connection to break it out of the frame

Unfortunately, I couldn't do this step in XCS either
I had to do this in Ilustrator
XCS did not allow a separation of the line

his is not an easy project
it was trail and error for me too
My most important tip here is
always make backup copies of all objects
as soon as a shape fits and you want to unite it, make a copy beforehand and put it aside
if you get to a point where you still want to change something, the undo function also destroys everything else but the backup copy
can save nerves and time

Create a rectangle with the size of your wood
for me it is A4 - that has 210x297mm
the frame serves as a reference point so as not to work beyond the limits

Write your TExt at the top and center it

CREATE the shape with straight line and curve at the bottom
now it gets a bit difficult to explain
another shape and imagine the line you want the handle to have
copy the shape for the other side

backup copy

create an outline
subtract this from the main object and you get a thicker line that you can engrave

do the same for the handles

For the base we proceed in the same way
always work with outline and important
backup copy

Step3: Base plate

the bar of the cup should have the same width as on the base plate
you have to include the kerf in the thickness
for me it is 2.79mm

Unfortunately, I couldn't do this step in XCS either
I had to do this in Ilustrator
XCS did not allow a separation of the line

you can trace the outer line that is cut with the vector tool and leave out the gap
I didn't do that because you can't work completely straight here
