Information
Just a quick project that will make a nice little gifts for any superhero fans. I had some translucent red acrylic that came in a bundle with other colours so I decided to make this key ring design to use up the spare material.

This was my first time cutting translucent acrylic so I done some small cutting tests to get the setting correct.

Step1: Design

To make this design I first found an image of the logo from Google and imported it into xTool creative space.

I then used the editing tools to remove the background leaving only the red S and the boarder. Next I used the outline feature set to 0mm to turn the image into vector lines for cutting.

Once you have the outline of the logo you will need to add the hole at the top for the key ring to attach.

I created one 6mm circle and another 3mm circle aligned in the centre and overlapping the top of the logo outline. I then used the combine feature to join the larger circle to the rest of the logo.

Step2: Cut

This being my first time cutting translucent red acrylic I first cut some little 10mm circles to test different power and cutting speeds.

I eventually settled on the settings listed above for a smooth cut using my 5w D1 Pro.

These settings will need to be adjusted for other lasers but can be used as a starting point for anyone that hasn’t cut this kind of material before.

Step3: Add keyring

Now all that is left to do is add your key ring and your project is complete.

I also used a silver jump ring to join the two together.
