      A door hanger is a popular method for children to personalize their space. This guide will explore how to customize a door hanger to make it distinctive for any child.

Step1: Start with the door Hanger template

I have provided a door hanger template to use for this and any other project like this.  The included project file has the template you can adjust or you can download the project file with a blank door hanger from my how-to on how to create the door hanger.

Step2: Add in any design elements

On this project I am adding in some text and a few image elements.  I am scoring the outline of a tree and engraving the horse.  This leaves the option for painting.

Step3: Settings

The settings in this file are for a D1 with a 5W laser.  You may need to adjust these settings for your own laser setup.

 

Be sure to follow all the safety rules that go with your laser engraver.  Always wear personal protective equipment when the laser is in operation.
