Graduation is a special milestone for many. Help commemorate this occasion with a customized slate coaster set. This gift will remind your graduate of the achievement and success for your years to come.

Step1: Create workspace
The first step is to create a simple shape to outline the workspace you are working in. I have set up a 4x4 inch square, which matches the coaster.
Step2: Add Text
Next, let's add in some text. I wanted the focal point of the design to be the 2024. I wanted to also add in text as script for “class of”. I wanted this to be inside the 2024, but since this is all in one color, I knew the “class of” will need a cutout.
I have never done this before, but I thought it would be a nice touch to remove a small outline around the Class of text.
Step3: Outline
To achieve the cutout, first we need to outline the text “class of” using the outline tool. Then select the outline and move it to the top layer. Then select the 2024 and use the subtract tool
Step4: Add in Cap
I also thought it would be a nice touch to add in a graduation cap and diploma on the bottom left. I also wanted this to have a cutout. Use the same process describe above to outline and subtract the image outline.
Step5: Settings
The settings in this file are for the D1 5W laser. You may need to adjust these settings for your laser setup.
