Find the image you would like to make a stand for. Fell free to take multiple and make a scene like I did with the kittens and the mom cat. 

Put them with the bottom on the same level however you would like them to display.

From there you just need to measure the depth of the material you will be using.

Make rectangular gaps that match the spacing of your items. Make sure they are the same height aa the depth of your material.

This is optional but placing a line at the same height as the depth of your material will help you determine what needs a hole to stand.

Place a shape (whatever you desire) around the spacing holes.

Set your gaps and base to cut and outline your images. Set your outlines to cut and score or engrave your image (or leave blank and paint).

Assemble and glue if desired or leave flat to make it easier to put in a card or hide amongst other gifts.
