In this project, we will look at a simple procedure for engraving a child's guitar.
The first step is to determine the area of the guitar that you want to engrave on. The dimensions and surface type are important factors to record so that we know how to design for the engraving. Here i am simply adding a name and a music note.
For this project, I chose to simply add a name and some music notes. To make sure I am inside the 4x2 inch workspace, I selected all elements of the design and XCS will display the overall dimensions.
The settings in this file are for the d1 with a 5W laser. You may need to adjust settings for your own laser configuration.
With the D1 laser, it is easy to adapter the laser setup to get in a position to engrave on irregular objects. The guitar is long, so we needed to clear the height of the guitar.
Be sure to follow all the safety rules that go with your laser. Always wear personal protective equipment when the laser is in operation.
After engraving, just take a damp cloth and wipe away any soot from the engraving process.
