Save the Bees!! I wanted to make some cute bee earrings. I have always been drawn to the beauty of honeycombs and wanted some earring to wear for spring.
Upload file into XCS and cut out pattern. I used the preset for 3mm basswood plywood, auto-measure, air assist and honeycomb riser. I made multiple different sizes of bees- you can just copyy and paste and resize. The bees I used the preset for engraving the inside, and then cut the outline.
EDIT: I added a second thicker file if you are having issues with breakage.
I used a paint pen for small yellow lines on the bees. I super glued the bees to the honeycomb. I used two jump rings and an earring hook for each earring. Open one of the jump rings and put through the hole, taking care to be gentle and not break the wood. Then attach the next jump ring and earring hook.
This is an easy project that would be perfect for a Mothers day gift.
