I'm excited to share the next set of projects designed to assist small businesses. The first is an 'Open/Closed' sign for your establishment 26/312
For this project, I used a rounded rectangle as the base shape and then expanded it using the edit node. Next, I added two small circles to hold up the sign and subtracted them from the rectangle to create the final shape. Finally, I added the text and selected a font that best complemented the sign. You can adjust the size of the text according to your business needs.
For this project, I used basswood. However, I think it would also look good in a variety of other materials, especially acrylic. But ultimately, you should choose a material that fits your business and the theme of your location. Additionally, you can choose to use different materials for the sides to make it more distinctive, but this is optional.
NOTE: Only the 'OPEN' part of the sign is set to output
Laser Time! This task involves simple engraving and cutting. However, make sure to adjust the settings for your specific laser. These instructions are for an S1 40-watt laser using basswood. Always remember to wear your laser-safe glasses—safety is a top priority.
For this step, you need to select everything labeled 'CLOSED' and set the output to 'off'. Then, select the 'OPEN' sign and set it to 'output'. Afterward, flip over the sign to engrave on the other side. Always remember to wear your laser-safe glasses—safety is a top priority
You're all set! Now, no one will ever have to wonder whether you are open or closed again.
