The original project gave me the idea of making squeezers for a whole family. Because what do small children love more than having what the adults also have - with their own name on it! And because I'm from Germany, the whole thing is available in two languages. :-)
Due to a lack of drawing talent, I used the DALL·E 3 to generate the images.
Photo 1:
For the form, I decided on a heart and used a template for this.
For the tube slot, a rectangle was added and was drawn into shape. Make sure that the slit does not become too large or too small. To keep the heart handy, I attached the slit on the side.
Photo 2:
So that it does not accidentally shift, I select both shapes together and combine them. In order for both forms to be preserved, I have to use "separate in case of overlap" for this.
Select the image and slide it on the heart. Then select everything together and the menu for the cutting mask appears at the top. Still a little adjusted, then it was ready to cut out.
Now remove the background and all disturbing corners with image edit.
Select the menu for text on the left. Enter the desired text on the right, select a font and adjust the size. I prefer laser engrave for fonts.
To fit the curve of the heart shape, I have adapted the top two texts about the bending icon.
The remaining hearts are put together in the same way. Then I group them all into one unit.
Now each work step gets its own level. To do this, I copy my unit of four hearts twice and assign it to two new levels.
Red becomes the setting for "cut" and therefore I delete all images and lettering before I group the whole thing as one layer.
The images get light blue as a layer and are set to "bitmap laser engrave". Then I group everything light blue into one unit.
Last but not least, the fonts get dark blue as a level, are set to "vector laser engrave" and grouped again.
For the sake of overview, I separate the German version from the English version by copying my four hearts and creating a new tab.
My creation is almost ready.
For safety, go through all settings again and correct them if necessary. I generally use red for cutting and both blues for engraving. Makes it easier to remember.
For the engraving, make sure that the lines per cm are not set too low. I prefer 180 L/cm.
Finished. Have fun!
