Step1: Design
I used a premade frame to design this, but it was rectangular instead of square. So, I used the edit node tool to turn it into a square without compressing the sides. This made it look uniform. After that, I added the text and chose the appropriate fonts. I made sure to weld all the fonts that touched each other. Finally, I resized the design to fit perfectly on my coaster.
Step2: Material
You might need a stone coaster, but you can adapt this method for other materials like wood or cork. Whatever you choose, it will surely add something special to your Mother's Day, so don't overthink it. 😀
Step3: Laser time
Please remember to set your laser to the appropriate material that you are using. Also, it's necessary to modify the settings to achieve the best results with your laser engraver. I personally use an Xtool S1 40 watt, but you can use the pre-set panel found at https://mt.xtool.com/. Finally, don't forget to wear laser-safe glasses for your safety.
Step4: You're done
You now have a funny personalized coaster, which makes a great gift for your mom.
