Step1: Design
For this project, I used separate text boxes for each word and added some premade tools from the Xtool Creative Space. I then inserted a rounded rectangle and used the node edit tool to elongate it. Finally, I combined it with the text to make it look crossed out. After that, I added the last bit of text at the bottom, which looks hand-drawn, to give it a little bit of charm.
Step2: Material
For this project, you will require a box. I have found one, but I am not sure where I got it. You can find a similar box on Amazon or at a craft store. Instead of purchasing a pre-painted or pre-stained one, you should get an unpainted or unstained box and then paint or stain it after you finish the engraving.
Step3: Laser time
Before using the laser, change the settings to fit your engraver, wear safety glasses, and prioritize safety. These instructions are specifically for Xtool S1 40-watt, so adjust accordingly.
Step4: You're done
You're all set now! You have a cool and funny box for Father's Day.
