The Book of Proverbs is replete with valuable nuggets of wisdom, yet it is the verses extolling a woman's strength and integrity that resonate with many, reminding us of our mothers' profound influence on our lives.
Instruction
Step1: Layout of the block
When engraving an object that the laser isn't cutting out, it is good to try and recreate the general shape of the object in the canvas so that you can anticipate where the engraving will be placed. This is also helpful for laying out any other design elements for the project.
For this project we only need a rectangle that is 2.5 inches by 6.5 inches. This matches up with a small cedar block I have selected for the project. It has a unique pattern to the wood grain, and i thought it would make a very nice piece.
Step2: Add in text
Next, Let's add in the text. Depending upon the length, you may need to play around with breaking the text into different lines. This seems to work best by inserting textboxes for each line. For this verse I used three lines.
Step3: Add other design elements to complete the design
Next let's add in some decorative elements. I have placed a heart on the canvas.
Step4: Separate out the jobs
finally, let's take the text to a different tab and copy the heart to another. We need to do this since the two are on different materials and will require two separate jobs.
Step5: Settings
I am using the D1 5W laser, so you may need to adjust these settings for your setup. Be sure to follow the safety guidelines for your laser. Always wear personal protective equipment when the laser is in operation.
