Step1: Adjust your design as needed.

The attached plan was for true 6mm MDF. The slots to assemble it are 5.95mm wide, which worked perfectly on my XTool S1.

You can resize the entire plan to reduce or increase the size of the slots but be careful of the finished dimensions. If you reduce the overall size too much, the wine bottles won't fit nicely. There aren't too many slots, so an option is to modify each slot manually using the node edit feature of XCS.

The plan includes alternate end pieces that have space to engrave a graphic or personalized message. Otherwise, the end pieces are the same. Just select which end piece you want to use. You only need to cut two end pieces, even though there's four in the plan.

Step2: Cut and clean the pieces.

Cut your pieces. For my NDF, I had to do 2 passes to cut through.

If you're not going to paint or stain your wine rack, you'll probably need to lightly sand or clean off any scorch marks. Luckily, MDF cleans up nicely.

Step3: Assemble and Finalize

Assembly is pretty straight forward. If your slots are tight, don't force them together with MDF. MDF can be brittle and may easily break or separate if you force the pieces together.

After doing a “dry” assembly to insure everything fits nicely, take it apart and re-assemble using glue this time. It doesn't take much glue. Just a couple drops at each slot.

Either leave your wine rack as is, paint it, or stain it. Then sit back and have a glass of wine!
