Graduation Cap Gift Box

I use makercase to design my boxes. You can plug is all the dimensions and they will give you the svg file for you box to pull into XCS. 

When making boxes on maker case you will need to adjust for the kerf. You can see the photo above that this will give you a box that will be need to be glued. This wont give you a tight fit without glue. 

• Once you finish designing your box save it to you computer
• On the left side panel in XCS click the photo icon and bring in the SVG file

We need to create the cap now

• Create a square that is 5" x 5"
• Create two small circles, one will be larger than the other 
  • First one can be .75" x .75"
  • Second one can be .50" x .50"

• Make sure all of your objects are set to “CUT”
• Automeasure your material.

Look at photos for guidance

• First we will need to glue to box together. 
  • Start but getting on of the big square pieces and laying it flat
  • Now you can start gluing the smaller pieces around it. 
  • Glue the top of the box to big 5" x 5" square
• Now glue the smaller circle in the middle of the bigger circle.
  • once dried glue the smaller circle to the top of the 5" x 5" square right in the center
• You can glue letters and numbers on top as well if you cut any.
  • You can paint before or after. I use paint pens so I find it easier to paint after I glue them on.

Now you can add a small tassel that matches your color theme!

This is the perfect size to put some paper confetti and gift card or some cash for that special graduate!
