Instruction

Step1: Pick Your Flowers

All the flowers are in groups, so Just drag your flowers down into your work space. If you can't see the flowers when you open the file, zoom out, they are there.

The purple layer just for the text so make sure it's set to ignore.

The blue layer is for engraving and the black layer is for cutting.

You can shrink the flowers smaller but they will fit looser in the jar stand.

Step2: Fix Your Flowers

Zoom in and line your flowers up in the work space

I used wood for my flowers but you can also use acrylic too

Now is a good time if you plan to paint or fill you engraving to mask your wood, no need to mask if you plan to just paint or stain the wood

Step3: Send it off to your machine

Make sure the blue (engrave layer) is set to output and settings best fitted for the type of material your are using

Don't forget to also make sure the black (cut layer) is also sit to output using the best fitted settings for the type of material you are using

And send it off to your machine.

This for me with 5 flowers tended to take about an hour and a half

Step4: Make your Jar

Go to the second tab to make your jar. I like the look of the clear acrylic but the wood works just as good.

Same as before the blue layer is for engraving and the black layer is for cutting

Add text to you jar to make it just a little more special

Step5: Paint your flowers

If you used masking type now the time to paint in the engraving or use powder coat, then pull off the type and color your flowers

I really like alcohol inks for these, they make a good wood stain. I wet the wood down before hand with just plan alcohol so when you drop the color on it's easier to blend, if you drop it on dry the color stays in place. I add a few drops and use a brush soaked in alcohol to move to inks around.

I also try these with acrylic paint and it works well but i like the pop of the alcohol inks

For filling in the acrylic I just added some acrylic paint over top with a towel, let it dry a little and wiped off the extra

Step6: Build your jar

The bigger grove piece will sit on the bottom of the two jars and the piece with all the holes for the flowers will sit in the middle of the jar. You'll have to glue the pieces to keep it all together. I used normal wood glue for the wood and an acrylic weld I found on amazon for the clear jar.

Step7: Add your flowers

Add your flowers into you jar! My 1st jar I made all the flowers the same size but it may help to fix and match the sizes. Got and extra big family you can always add more holes to the top mount or even move them around

Now my mom the type of person to write dates on everything so to save her the time I add the type of flower and birth month to the back of each flower and the date of the mother's day I plan to give them to her on.
