To get started, let's draw some rectangles to create the rails and posts for the fence. We will also start to consider the sizing. I thought that quarter inch would be a good width for our boards, and the rails will span three inches while the posts will be 2 inches.
Next, we need to create a dado to receive the rails of the fence. I have positioned two rails on the canvas to help line up the dados with where I'd like them to be on the posts.
Next, let's duplicate the parts needed to construct the fence. Simply copy and paste each part and position so that they will use the least amount of material.
The settings listed are for a D1 with a 5W laser. You may need to adjust the settings for your laser setup.
Run as many parts as you need to create a fence of any length.
Be sure to follow the safety rules that go with your laser. Always wear personal protective equipment when your laser is in operation.
after the parts are cut out, you need to glue two post pieces together and then glue those into the base. I chose not to glue the rails in so that the fence can be taken apart and built by my children when they play.
