Step 1) This project starts out with a very long and narrow oval brought in to the work area with the insert button, it was then turned horizontal so it can be worked on much easier. once the size was set some gun supports were needed, these were done with other software but once in the work area a rectangle was used in conjunction with the combine and united feature so the bottoms could be squared flat.

Step 2) In this step the gun supports, ( the Y looking objects needed to be different sizes from the front and the back they also needed 3 of each cut out to give enough support holding the gun. These different sizes allows the gun to sit level in the rack for display.

Step 3) The name and year of the gun was needed to describe what the gun was so the lettering was made up and positioned in the front side of the large oval. Decorative scrolls were also added to give a designer look to the rack, these were positioned on the ver outside edge of the long oval.

Step 4) In this step once the name and scrolls were placed I also added small tiny little rectangles at either side to mark center and the proper distance the supports needed to be in order to hold the gun and also keep it level. These rectangles were just scored and would get covered up with glue up.

Step 5) Off to the laser once all the settings for Cutting, engraving and scoring were set. Cutting was 100% power @ 5mm/s and 3 full passes, the scoring was not much set at 20% power and 30mm/s speed with 1 pass. and the engraving 80% power 80mm/s speed with 1 pass.

Step 6) Not really a step but once the supports were glued in the right place the gun sits proudly level on the rack to display. Maybe some of you have some old vintage guns you would like to display well the file is there to try. Enjoy!
