As we get older Medication some time becomes part of our lives, some time younger fast paced people are needing daily medication as well and it is hard to remember at time if the medication for the day was taken, so I made a 4 layer dispenser that shows Monday-Sunday and a built in cover.
Step 1) First step to this build is bringing in a circle, once in the work area the array feature is used to make 6 more circles in a round formation, this round set of circles was sized to 5"
Step 2) In this step a second larger circle was added so it surrounded the other circles, this was centered using the alignment feature, once it was all set I grouped it all by right clicking and selecting group, I then copied and pasted it to make yet another one. Now this second circle with the series of circles is totally optional depending on the size of the medication being stored, it simply adds depth to each hole.
Step 3) In this step I added the days of the week and sized and positioned them in front of each of the 7 holes, Now a second and 3rd larger circle are needed for the top and the very bottom, the bottom circle will be plain and nothing more is done to it.
Step 4) In this step I positioned the access window to the outside edge of the top circle, Another small tiny circle was brought in to be the center hole for the rotating screw that allows the top to spin without coming off.
Step 5) Once the small tiny circle was placed in the center, it was time to add a name for this, so Daily Med was added one on top of center and one just below, the setting for this will be engraving and the numbers are 70 Power 80mm/s speed with 1 pass. on to the laser machine,
Step 6) Once all of the laser's duties were complete, cutting scoring and engraving it was time to assemble this container, it was pretty simply stacking the parts on top of each other with some wood glue, now careful note the top does not get glued it uses 1 small screw only loosely screwed in to allow the top to move easily.
Step 7) Now that the top was screwed onto the rest of the project it was time to put the container to work. I hope this can help some one remember to take the medication ... Note this can be for vitamins as well if you are taking them daily and you want a reminder or a check point to see if you took it. Enjoy!
