Wooden utensils are a great laser project. Quick and easy to make and you can customize them with text and graphics of your choosing. These are great to make for yourself, sell, or give as gifts.

Step1: Measure the Spoon

To guide you in the design process it's helpful to take a few measurements, length and width.
Use the text tool to compose your words and choose the font. Weld the text. I added the rooster image from the “Shapes” Animal section.

Step2: Choose the Engrave Parameters

Although the spoon is made from bamboo I'll be using the 3mm basswood as the material.
Select your design and choose “Engrave.”
I choose the following setting for engrave: Power = 35, Speed = 100, Pass1

Step3: Frame and Process the Design

Use the framing feature to make sure the design is lined up with the spoon. Make any adjustments necessary then send to the laser for processing.
