Step 1) First thing for this project is to being in an SVG file so it can be cut and engraved, you want to cut as well as engrave because when you cut the cutting board first you get a cleaner crisp edging on the shape you are adding the resin to. So once the desired shape is selected it is set to cut @ 100% 4mm/s and 1 pass, now this will not cut right through the cutting board it is just making a deeper outline.

Step 2) This step is almost the same as the first step except the shape is set to engrave instead of cut, it will need to engrave deep so the power is higher and the speed is lower and also 3 passes.

Step 3) Once the engraving and the first step of cutting was complete a simple check to see if the engraving is in fact deep enough, as long as it is at least 1mm deep it should be fine to add epoxy resin.

Step 4) In this step once the engraving checked out to be deep enough, a light sanding with 400-500 grit sand paper to clean around the edges, it is wise to use a flat hard backing with the sand paper to keep it flat while sanding so it doesn't bend into the engraving itself. Now that the Bamboo cutting board is prepared it is time to mix a very little amount of 2 part epoxy, there are several Mica powder colors for resin I happen to use the coffee color to bring in the brown family of colors.

Step 5) In this step you pour the resin in the engraved area's, you don't need to mask anything off if you are careful. once you pour a small amount watch it cover as it is self leveling and you don't want to add to much so it over flows, it is better to add more if need be. After this has been done you put it to the side and let it cure, depending on room temperatures and types of resin this can take between 8-36 hours. hope you enjoyed this and you try it some day.Enjoy!
