Wooden Bead custom Mother's Day Necklace. Comforting scent of a campfire with beads that can be stained or painted as desired.
Decide how large you want to make your beads. The width of the beads will be the width of you material and you want them to be thick enough the will be sturdy being worn. You also want to keep in mind the material you will be stringing them on. In my case I used leather but I would have made them a bit smaller if I was using string.
Make a circle the height you would like your beads to be. The make an inner circle in the center (you can offset if you want the beads to hand outwards) keeping in mind the diameter of the material you will be stringing it onto. Set them to cut and group them to make it easier to keep together.
Copy and Paste (to make your life easier copy the two to 4, 4 to 8, 8 to 16 and so on). Make sure you have enough to comfortably fill your necklace. These are small so some extra doesnt hurt.
Start with a shape the size you would like your pendent to be. Add a circle at the top to make the connection point and unite. Place an inner circle for a metal loop to go through and group. Take the same initial shape and put a smaller version where you would like your hollow to be. (In my case I wanted the bottom of the heart gone so the words stood out). Decide on the words you would like internally and how they will need to connect (font can matter in this case) so that they will all come out in one piece. I like the use of the heart because there are three connection points so it fit “MOM” perfectly. Merge the words to the piece and set it all to cut.
Assemble all of your pieces. I would start with the beads and add the pendant with a metal findwhere it sits comfortably depending on the tie or latch. You can paint the beads and pendent or soak them in stain or whatever final coatings you desire. I like the campfire smell and look of the natural wood personally.
