A little humor for all the busy mom's out there. This sign is a pretty way of displaying many terms of endearment for our mothers. I wanted something simple and pretty. I decided to cut out a cardstock design to layer over the top instead of painting and it turned out lovely. I added some beads for decoration to the hanging piece.
Instruction
Step1: Download XCS file and put plywood into machine and cut out design.
I used the presets for Cherry Plywood. I used the honeycomb riser and air assist.
Step2: Cut out cardstock (optional) for decoration of floral overlay
I used the preset for Kraft paper and used the laser to cut out the paper. If you have not tried this yet, I highly recommend it. I prefer to laser paper over the blade any day all day. The paper stays nice and flat, no weeding needed. It's a huge time save and comes out so clean.
Be sure to keep it the same size. I just copy the original design and copy onto canvas 2 (tabs on the bottom of XCS). Then apply the kraft paper settings. Be sure to use magnets to hold paper in place so it does not shift.
I just glued it right over the top of the wood design.
Step3: Paint the back pieces and glue the word on to each piece.
I painted the back pieces that the words will be glued to white so they stood out more. After the paint has dried, apply the appropriate word to each piece.
Step4: Glue each layer together and add hanging string with beads.
I used fine tip super glue to put all my pieces together and found some beads to add. Enjoy!
