      Need a creative different Mother's Day gift? This project gives the gift of a flower with a space for a nice picture to be glue in the center. 
    
Instruction

Step1: Adding Flower and the Grass

  • The Flower and the grass
    • On the left hand side, click the icon that looks like the square is overlapping a circle
    • Click “Plant”
    • Scroll down until you see a flower that looks like a daisy with two leaves, click on it.
      • Size the flower height to 6" inches
    • Scroll down more and click on the grass
      • Click the grass and stretch it out a bit. You can click the aspect ratio if you want the grass to be longer rather than taller.

Step2: Editing the Flower Nodes

  • On the right side panel, click “Edit node”
    • We need to make a longer flatter
    • Grab one of the nodes at the bottom and drag it down
    • Grab another and straighten it out so there is a flat bottom
    • Click Done

Step3: Perfecting the Grass

  • Create a rectangle and size it to line up the width of the grass
  • You want to stretch so you have a little depth to the grass as well.
  • Make sure the rectangle overlaps the grass a little bit
  • Select both objects by holding down you left mouse key and dragging over both objects
  • Under combine on the right side panel, click “Unite”
  • Now drag the grass over to the flower and size it to your liking.
    • Not wanting it too tall. We want to be able to see the leaves.
  • Click the “T” on the left side panel to add some text. 
    • For this project, I used “Thank you for helping me grow”

Step4: The backing for the Picture

  • On the left side panel, click on circle icon to add a circle.
    • You can change the dimensions to 1.74" x 1.74"

  • We are going to send what we have to far to the to be cut and engraved.

Step6: Measuring for the Base!

Grab your digital calipers! If you don't have some, you can get them at your local big box store or amazon. They are great to have!

  • We need to make the base so that the pieces fit snuggly inside without glue.
    • Measure the width and lenght of the grass as shown in the attached pictures,
    • Then measure the bottom of the flower stem where it it go into the base. 
  • Measurements for the grass 4.81" x . 10"
  • Measurements for the flower .27"x .10"

Step7: Designing the Base

Now that we have our measurements, we can create at the base.

  • Create a wide enough base that if you were to put the grass on top of it it you would have space on both sides and some in the back for the flower stem
  • Create two other rectangle 
    • one for the grass the measurements will be 4.81" x .10"
    • one for the flower will be .27" x .10"
    • Center both smaller rectangles into the bigger one
  • Send the base to the laser!

Step8: Putting it together!

  • Glue a photo on the bigger circle that was cut out.
    • You can discard the one that was cut from the flower's center
  • Paint your flower and grass
  • Once the photo on the backer has dried and the flower paint has dried, glue the photo to the the center of the flower
  • Lastly, stick the flower and grass into the slots. They will fit snuggly and will need a little force to get them.
  • And ta-da! You have beautiful custom flower with a photo to give that special person for Mother's Day!
