A cake topper like this can be created inside XCS but I‘m working with Adobe Illustrator so I‘m going to share how you can recreate such a topper on your own with the basic steps. Not depending on which program you are using.

  1. Write your 2 Words you want to have and choose your fonts (i really like the combination of handwriting and sans serif)
  2. Turn them into Vector (in XCS its the Button under the Font settings)
    1. Place the texts close to each other and look for good connections (every letter need a connection otherwise it's not working, for my one i liked to have the ‘LL’ stick to one of the bars of the letter H)
    2. If needed select a single character and move it next to the other one, so close that these overlap a bit
    3. Otherwise youse tiny bars or symbols to fill in the gaps
  3. Now we need to create a holding part for the cake, for this one I used 2 rectangles.
    1. One ist going under the bottom font kinda like its underlined text.
    2. second one is the vertical piece thats going inside the cake, make sure to make it logn enough for your cake or shorter if it's a smal one.
  4. Now select all and merge it together

Step2: Cutting and painting

Please make sure not to blindly use my settings. Every wood is different and mine was 2mm thickness so yours need to be different.

For painting I used acrylic paint and did 2 coatings to make it pop.
