Information
You may have an open frame laser like the D1 or D1 Pro. If you do, you should be concerned about who is in the same room as the laser when it is in operation, and whether or not they are wearing personal protective equipment like eye protection. This simple project shows how to create a simple sign to help everyone know that the laser is in use and that they should not enter the room.

Instruction
1
Step1: Create overall sign shape

For this project I want to create a simple rectangular shaped sign.  This is a good starting point so that all elements are sized appropriately.  I start by just drawing a rectangle and then selecting it to then adjust the dimensions using the Height and Width properties.  I went with 4x11.8 inches.

Step2: Add in a graphics and text

Our next step is to add in any graphics and text.  I chose to add in a simple laser graphic.  I used the image settings to ensure the contrast was high and changed the bitmap mode to Jarvis.

Next simply add in text.  I chose to add in “STOP LASER IN USE”  I changed the processing mode to engrave and positioned the text in the center of my rectangle.

Step3: Configure Processing Settings

Lastly, we need to configure the settings for our laser.  I am using the D1 with a 5W laser.  you may need to adjust these settings appropriately for your laser.

Be sure to follow the safety guidelines for your laser and always wear personal protective equipment like eye protection.
