I used air assist with honeycomb risers to cut the material. I used the Xtool presets for 3mm Basswood Plywood. Depending on the exact thickness of your material you may need to adjust insert slot size. I wanted a tight fit without any glue so you may need to wiggle or sand the insertion pieces in to fit correctly. With the material I used it was a perfect fit and no glue was needed to hold it together. If you do find that it is loose you can use superglue to be sure the pieces stay together.
This design was made for 3mm material. Any other size material will not fit into the slots unless you make adjustments.
I chose to use a gold for the base. I use Krylon spray paint as it has beautiful coverage and a nice sheen finish.
For the bunny and carrots I chose to use paint pens due to the fine lines. Be sure to utilize the score lines as paint can flow to the edge of the line without bleeding outside of the score lines. It would take a very fine brush and steady hand to get the smaller outline details of this projects if you do not use paint pens.
To protect the finish I used a clear coat spray paint.
Assemble the three pieces as shown. Voila! A fun Easter display for your eggs!
