Select image and then edit. Select AI cut out, switch to manual and remove the background
select the image and the layer to blue. ( I Always use Blue for engrave!)
select the image, the edit then select trace to form an outer second layer, set this to Purple, or a colour of your choosing.
click on the cut (purple) layer and then on the top menu select “Edit Element”. Delete everything inside the moon and any lines not in the outer shell of images outside the circle. Note this may take some practice.
You will need to manually add a few lines, depending on how you retain the outer image.
click on the layers tab and change the processing order so etch is first. Note this will not alone do the job.
Click the down arrow to the left of process, select User defined in the options and then By Layer. This should now correctly order the engrave and then cut order.
Select the material as basswood as appropriate to your material, in my case Basswood of 1.5mm, but as 3mm is the thinnest I used this.
In the engrave of the image, I set passes to 3, this takes the base settings but darkens the image nicely.
In the cut section, Purple Layer, I changed the passed to 8. This just cut through. Do not forget to put it on the cutting base.
Run the program.
I finished it with self adhesive cork on the base, which I trimmed with a craft knife, and used a clear spray varnish to seal the surface,
