I wanted to create a simple and elegant Easter box. I love how the kerf pattern allows the wood to bend for the "living" hinge. I chose a Cherry plywood for a beautiful finish. I used super glue to attach the sides of the box.

I chose Cherry Plywood because of its beautiful grain pattern. I wanted a simple finish. I would choose the basswood plywood if I were going to paint or stain the project. I have the honeycomb with risers and the Xtool air assist which I cannot recommend enough. The projects turn out beautifully with minimal to no charring.
I chose from the drop down of options from Xtool for Cherry Plywood and selected the “auto-measure” feature.
Be gentle with the wood with the Kerf pattern as it is fragile.
I used tack cloth and a tooth brush to remove soot before gluing pieces together.
Be sure to make sure the image is facing the way you want it to open prior to gluing.
When gluing hold the pieces at a 90 degree angle so everything meets up and the box closes properly. I glue the two sides first, then the single front piece last. I used Super Glue with a fine tip for precision to glue the pieces together. I did not put any super glue on the kerf pattern. If you choose to do this make sure the hinges that close the box will line up to close.
I love the cherrywood finish on this box. If you choose to paint I would do that prior to assembly. Box measure 6.25in x 4.75in x 1.25in.
