This is a darling Easter Bunny basket that is easy to make. You can use different woods to make a totally different look. The basket slides together, and you can add all the embellishments you want. My family loved them, and I hope yours will also.
I started with a basket piece that I had and put bunny design over it and stretched the bunny a little taller. I then filled in both the items and combined to create a single bunny basket side piece. I then put the handle from original basket on top of the new bunny basket side panel and stretched the basket handle it so it would be taller over the bunny head. I then arranged the remaining basket pieces and the egg decorations for cutting on my M1. I saved the file as a SVG and imported into the xcs program. Depending on the size of your laser bed you will need to arrange the pieces for your workspace but when bringing file in tell program to leave in original size and then move pieces off the cut area.
The setting I used was for basswood which is 100 power and 5 speed 1 pass, this was for the basswood. I also cut mdf and I needed to do a second pass when using the mdf, so I set that before cutting. With my M1 I had to use multiple piece to get all the items cut. But is did a fantastic job.
If you choose you can paint your pieces. I only painted fully my basswood and did some painting on my mdf baskets but not much. I also painted all the eggs white and then some I used paint markers to decorate and the rest I added some laminate film and sublimated them.
I would decorate the bunny first and add the face and egg basket before assembling the basket. Trust me I did it the hard way. I used wood glue to attach all the pieces and used it when assembling the basket to make sure it held together well. Another suggestion is to cut two of the handle pieces and glue together, it adds stability, but one does work just fine.
