My 1st attempt at a calendar with a few mistakes along the way. I decided on the low relief engraving design since you can paint certain parts to add a pop of color.
Begin with the original design and use the mask function to shape it as you desire, as illustrated in picture #2. I experimented with various shapes before settling on a circle.
Create a circle design with an outline and add the numbers, months, and days. Use the circle array feature to ensure they align within the circle (you may have to do some still adjusting to make sure everything lines up correctly.)
Align the circular array with your image and determine where you want the openings to match up. I chose to place the openings above and below the sunset. Additionally, I used a semi-circle shape to cut away part of the image where I wanted the calendar to be visible, allowing for easy turning of the dates.
Cut out and engrave per your machine settings. Adjust to the size you want your calendar to be. Assembly and display.
