A lovely reminder of the ones that make you whole a great desktop decoration
so there are a few levels to this I added some of my pocket hugs to the blank space as I do not like to waste anything. The top is the frame that says my missing piece and the back is the the part with the couple on it. The pieces are separate here but fit perfectly together. These settings are for the ¼ inch plywood not the 3mm just keep that in mind this will work for the thinner stock but you will need to adjust the settings.
first do a dry fit to ensure everything will line up then I took my stains and picked where I wanted them and after the stain dried I fit them on again using a #2 pencil I marked the movable pieces so that I know where they will go (mark lightly!). I added some quality wood glue to the pieces. and placed a flat piece of metal on top and a brick until it dried.
Now that it is dry I flipped it over and with a small hinge I used epoxy glue to join it to the stand allowing time to set, then using the same epoxy to join the kick stand to the back measuring it to fit to the corner of the frame. To keep the kick stand from going to far out I used a piece of cooking twine and a staple to hold it to the back side.
