So first I used the grid array to create the little marks on the bottom I did mine in metric so I made 9 small marks at 1mm apart at 5mm tall. Next I made a taller mark on the first one 10mm, and then the 5th mark I made at 7mm now I combined these and then used the array tool to make them as long as I wanted with spacing set to 1mm. Now I added numbers at all the 10s. Next I drew a rectangle around the numbers and added my SVGs that I wanted. (note; grouping all your dashes and numbers makes it alot easier to move around without messing up the alignment.) I then used the outline tool set to 2mm to put a boarder around the ruler removing the original rectangle I set this for cut. Then I pressed the button and yelled “Fire the laser”.

So I found mistakes in the first one and had to redo it! so be careful when moving around your images. I used a known tape measure to ensure that all my lines were matched up. Now you can add magnets or even use the outline to cut out a felt back and glue it to it. I also suggest using a light wipe of alcohol and then using some type of sealant or polyurethane, because without it the laser markings on your wood will fade quickly.
