This is a flat (3-layer) flower as a decoration for a valentine's gift.
Build the basic form for the flower
Draw an ellipse in XCS, duplicate it and rotate the duplicate by 90 degrees. Duplicate both, return this by 180 degrees. XCS will nicely snap this into position so it is easy to finde the perfect alignment. Then mark all four, duplicate them, turn the copy by 45 degrees and again align everything. At a last step: Join the geometries in XCS. This gives you the basic form of the flower.
Build the additional parts for the flower
You will need the basic form twice where the second one is slightly smaller then the first. In addition you will need a circle about the size of the inner part of the smaller flower form.
And you need the green part. This is composed from a rectangle, two ellipses and a circle. Draw them as displayed and join them. Then rotate the larger flower form by 22.5 degrees, align both and join them,
Build the banner
Now we need a banner image. For example you can use this one from pixabay:
https://pixabay.com/vectors/banner-tattoo-vintage-ribbon-sign-2136190/
This one is available under the pixabay-license, which means that it is free to use - even commercial - but must not be sold without adding some content to it. So here in this step we will add content to this and add this to our content, so it can be used. Of course, you can also use any other banner.
Load the file (svg prefered!) via the image function of XCS and scale it. Use the frame-function of XCS to add an outline around it. Choose a distance of 2mm. The generated outline will later be used to cut out the banner. Use the XCS-text function to write your message.
In my design I have had text in the banner and above the banner. So I needed to extend the generated outline. To do this just draw a rectangle that fits the outline and your text and join this to the outline.
Build the flower
Select the text and the banner svg and set these to scoring with 50% and 60mm/s. Select all other geometries (outline, flower part with greens, smaller flower part and circle) and set those to cutting with 4mm/s and 100%. It takes about 8 minutes, 30 seconds to build these.
Afterwards use some watercolor to paint the flower and glue the parts together.
Note: If you do not want to do all these steps by yourself, you might take my xcs file from above and just change the text.
Have fun with it!
