Information
Do you need a modular castle-themed game for a children's birthday party, a youth group or just for yourself? Then this game is perfect for you! The walls, towers, gates, ceilings and bridges of a castle can be placed anywhere on a playing field with the size of your choice. This way, many different castles can be built in competition. The set can be expanded as required! The trophy for the winner rounds off the whole thing.
An XL Systainer is also available as an option so that building materials can be perfectly stored and separated.

Step1: Designing the game

As with all my projects, I use the free program Sketchup Make (highly recommended!) for the 3D design of my idea. When I'm happy with the 3D design, I drag all the necessary surfaces onto a layer.
CAUTION: Here you have to pay attention to how large the processing area of your laser is!

A DXF file can then be exported from Sketchup using the 'Export to DXF' extension, which can then be imported directly into XTool Creative Space.

Step2: Cutting the basic parts

In this step, all xcs files must be executed except the file with the trophies (this is optional - see step 3).
The files 'sys_castle_game_plate_parts' and 'sys_castle_game_plate' can be adapted to the desired size as shown in the pictures. Do not throw away the frame of 'plate_parts'! This is perfect for aligning the individual rectangles before gluing them to the plate.
On the picture with colored dots, the parts of one color belong to one part of the castle: green the tower, red the bridge and blue an extra part for the base (can also be deleted if not needed).
After cutting the pieces, you have to assemble the towers and the bridges.

Step3: Optional: Adding trophies for the winners

So that the winner with the most beautiful castle can be honored accordingly at the end, any number of trophies can be cut out and optionally provided with text.
If several trophies are required, you can easily distribute the lines for a trophy several times in your editing space in XTool Creative Space using the 'Pattern' function (see image). When assembled, the small trophies can also be painted perfectly.

Step4: Optional: Building your custom game box

Optionally, a Systainer can be fitted with separating elements, for example. I traced the Systainer in Sketchup and then designed dividers made of 3 mm wood. I have also included these as DXF files and they can be imported directly into Xtool Creative Space.

IMPORTANT: You can be very creative with the rules for the game. For example, we played the game with 4-5 groups (of course, everything has to be produced several times) and the groups had to earn gold coins by answering questions and completing tasks (in the building / on the grounds), with which they then had to buy the castle parts and assemble them into a creative castle in their place. At the end, these castles were then judged by a jury. HAVE FUN!
