First and foremost I used really cheap T*moo wood for this so the thickness is 1.9-2 mm based on the batch. Modify the tabs and rectangles to match your material !!! (3mm from materials here or 4.2 for most sanded plywood)
Took a santa hat and extended it 3 mm. Cut this background file. Took original file and engraved what I wanted. Feel free to modify. On this same cut I measured an average nip and made 2 rings to hold top and bottom. The tab cuts will depend on your wood so measure and change the rectangles/tabs on rings. You can change the TOP ring diameter to make it "hanging" or "bottom out". Experiment and use what you like.
Insert bottle from bottom and gently work the top in.
Paint/modify/redesign and post !!!!
Cut file. Best if one paints or stains 1st because engraving will come out better. Glue them together and move on to glueing and inserting retainer rings. Measure your material! Modify cuts and tabs per your thickness. This is easily done by making a rectangle and welding it to the current design. The diameter of the nip top determines how you want your final project to be. Tight will make the stocking hang and loose will have the background bottom out.
