I was looking for a file for a double light switch cover but could find one so decided to create my own. This switch is often confused for the kitchen light so thought it would be nice to label it.
I removed the original switch plate and took measurements. I used rectangles and circles to draw it in XCS. I added the word ‘pantry’ next to the left hand side switch. I also added a smaller rectangle inside the bigger one to cut a stand-off to account for the curvature of the switch plate.
I had some rustic wood patterned MDF I used for the main cover, and just used basswood for the inner rectangle.
I glued the inner piece to the back of the plate. Once dry, I replace the plastic cover with the new switch plate cover.
