Material used

Information
I make several of these beard combs in advance of any customized engraving. Once a customer orders one with cusotm engraving, I use a jog to make it go a lot easier.

Make your jig....

  1. Make things repeatable.
  2. Use the xTool Creative Software's built-in grid snapping to locate objects
  3. Set a piece of wood in you M1 in a repeatable position, like top left of the honeycomb
  4. Cut the shape of your object into the wood
  5. Remove the newly created jig and set it aside for later use.

Now you have a jig to be used anytime you need to engrave into the same type of object again

Engrave another of the same object

  1. First you must auto-measure the object you intend to engrave. This ensure the focus is correct just in case the object may have the same outside shape but varies in thickness due to material variations.
  2. Next place your jig into your M1 in the same repeatable was as before.
  3. Then you can adjust your text in xTool Creative Space
  4. The process!
