This design started as a Faroese-inspired illustration featuring traditional longline fishing boats and the seabird Súlan in flight. I prepared the artwork as a clean black-and-white vector for mirror backside engraving using the xTool F1 blue laser.
The file is sized to 128 × 108 mm, but can be resized freely. I engraved on a 3-5 mm mirror using 95% power, 128 mm/s, 6 passes. After engraving, I cleaned the surface with alcohol to reveal the bright etched lines.
This project works great as wall art, gifts, nautical decor, or Faroese-themed crafts.
