✂️ Cutting & Engraving Steps

Prepare Your Material:
Use 1/8” (3mm) Baltic birch, basswood, MDF, or acrylic. Mask your surface with painter’s tape if you plan to paint later to prevent burn marks.

Import the File:
Open the SVG in your preferred laser software (Glowforge, Lightburn, XTool Creative Space, etc.). Ensure the colors are properly recognized for cut and engrave operations.

Set Power & Speed:

Engrave: Medium power / medium speed

Cut: High power / slow speed
(Test a small piece first to ensure clean edges.)

Cut the Layers:

Layer 1 (Base Layer): This forms the solid shape of the ornament and earrings.

Layer 2 (Detail Layer): This includes icing, candy, and texture details.

Optional Hole Adjustments:
The ornament includes a top hole for hanging; earrings include small holes for hooks or studs. Resize as needed before cutting to fit your preferred hardware.

🎨 Assembly & Finishing

Paint Before Gluing (Recommended):
Paint each layer separately using acrylic paints or paint pens.

Suggested colors: brown/tan base (wood tone), white icing details, red and green candy accents.

For a festive touch, add glitter or a clear gloss coat.

Glue Layers Together:
Once paint is dry, align the top and bottom layers using the cut lines as a guide.

Use wood glue or E6000 for a strong bond.

Apply light pressure while drying to avoid shifting.

Add Hardware:

Attach earring hooks or jump rings to the smaller pieces.

Add twine, ribbon, or a hook to the ornament loop for hanging.

Optional Sealant:
For outdoor or high-handling use, finish with a clear varnish (Polycrylic, Mod Podge, or similar).
