As the last golden leaves drift through the air, a soft light flickers — and with it, the magic of autumn awakens. 🍂🌙
This fantasy-style upcycling project turns an ordinary toilet paper roll into a glowing lantern full of swirling stars, dancing lines, and a hint of mystery.
Cut with the xTool F1 and powered by a simple LED tealight, it captures that magical moment when day turns to dusk and imagination takes over.
Whether you place it on a windowsill, your desk, or as part of a cozy autumn decoration — this lantern brings warmth and a touch of wonder to any room.
Connect your rotary attachment to the xTool F1 and position it according to the official setup guide.
Make sure the rotary axis is stable and centered before you start.
⚠️ Important safety note:
When using the rotary, the laser operates as a Class 4 laser.
Always wear appropriate laser safety goggles, and make sure everyone nearby is either also protected or outside the laser’s line of sight (e.g., behind a closed door).
🔥 Additional safety warning:
Because paper is highly flammable, always stay with the laser while it’s running — never leave it unattended.
Keep something nearby to extinguish a small fire quickly if necessary (like a damp cloth or a small spray bottle of water).
Safety first — creativity second.
Download the design and open it in XCS (xTool Creative Space).
Insert an empty toilet paper roll onto the rotary.
In the preview window, align the design to fit the roll’s width and height.
Tip: If the roll isn’t perfectly round, gently reshape it with your fingers before placing it.
Run a frame preview to verify the correct position and alignment of the design.
Double-check that the rotary axis spins smoothly and the laser head stays clear of the edges.
Before you hit “Start,” confirm again:
✅ Safety glasses on.
✅ Everyone nearby is safe.
✅ The rotary axis is clear and aligned.
Then let the laser work its magic! 🍃

Once the engraving and cutting are done, carefully remove the roll.
Insert a small LED tea light (⚠️ never use real candles!) and place it in a dim room.
The swirling leaf patterns will cast beautiful, warm shadows — a perfect cozy touch for autumn evenings. 🍁
