If you’ve spent any time around kids lately, you’ve probably heard the phrase 6-7. So why not commemorate it? In my family, we have an ornament for each year that highlights a memorable moment — and this year, it’s all about 6-7! Join me in celebrating with a Merry 6-7-Mas ornament!
Instruction
Step1: Prepare xTool Studio
Begin by opening xTool Studio. Within the software, adjust your project as needed: resize the design to your preferred dimensions and modify the engraving darkness to achieve your desired effect. This design utilizes two distinct processes: engraving to create the 6-7 hand and cutting to separate the two layers.
Step2: Send Design to the Laser Cutter
These instructions are written assuming you are using an xTool D1 Pro 10W laser. If you are using a different laser model, you may need to adjust the settings (as configured in step one) to achieve optimal results for your machine. The laser cutting process for the 2 layers will take approximately 15 minutes.
Step3: Assemble and Glue the Layers
Use super glue to adhere the wooden layers together. Pro Tip: Always place a piece of scrap paper underneath your project to protect your work surface from glue. Carefully glue the layers together, aligning them precisely. Optional Ornament Finish: Thread a piece of string or ribbon through the designated hole at the top to hang your completed wooden ornament.
Step4: Enjoy Your Merry 6-7-Mas Ornament
Congratulations! Your 2-layer wooden 6-7-Mas ornament is now finished and ready to display! Showcase your handcrafted piece as a delightful part of your Christmas décor, or perhaps as a unique gift, and appreciate the intricate details brought to life through laser cutting and layering!
