These laser-cut wooden earrings are inspired by a certain chaotic triangle of mystery and mayhem, engraved with a wide all-seeing eye and topped with a tiny top hat for maximum unholy charm. Lightweight and hypoallergenic, they’re perfect for people who enjoy a little conspiracy with their accessories. I made these because I’ve always loved characters who are both hilarious and terrifying, and because sometimes your inner gremlin needs earrings that feel like a cursed cartoon side quest. They're weird, they're wonderful, and they’re definitely watching.
I sketched the original artwork in Procreate, channeling equal parts cartoon mischief and cosmic dread. Once satisfied, I brought the design into Illustrator to refine the lines and prepare it for engraving.
The file was sent to the laser for 1/8" basswood. The design is about .75 inches tall to make a statement without dragging your lobes into another dimension.
Once cut, I gently cleaned the pieces and laid them face down for assembly. Using trusty E6000 glue, I attached hypoallergenic stainless steel posts to the back of each triangle, sturdy, safe, and sinister in the best way.
Each pair was left to cure fully before handling (just over 24 hours). Once dried, they were tested for strength, photographed, and packed up, ready to be adopted by stylish cult gremlins everywhere.
