Information

Made my kids custom nightlights with their favorite character logos. Added benefit is that the light projects on the walls/ceiling making it super fun for the kids to enjoy and fall asleep to their favorites.

Instruction

1

Step1: Simple pattern to build a sealed cube

The template provided is missing any copy righted materials so users can customize to their spec. Simple place the logos you want to have on the sides in the correspondingly labeled panels and cut the pattern.

For the transformers logos, I used the Transformers font to get the logos I wanted to use and used the built in tools in xTool studio to modify the lines to make them thick cut outs with tabs where needed to maintain structure. For the RWBY light I sourced SVG files of the logos and performed similar work. Depending on size of the base image you can use outline tool (inside and outside) with .2mm spacing to create a nice boarder around the original lines. This will give the light a nice thin channel to use to project on walls.

Alternate option would be to just lightly cut your pattern in the box and patterns will still light up but will not have projection effect.

Step2: Cut and assemble

Once you have developed your design, run the laser cut and assembly is simple. If your material and setting are accurate for your material/machine then the fit should be decently tight without glue but if fit is loose glue can be used.

During assembly, please insert LED lighting element and attach to base panel. I am using simple LED panels I got off Temu with rotating RGB light pattern. Using hot glue worked for me to attach to base panel and then ran the cable through the hole in the back panel (hole can be sized to fit your light needs).

Keep your sides straight and make sure the up side of each panel during cutting is facing out from the cube.
