Information

      atommcreatorchallenge

3 different smoking gorilla, engraved on natural slice of wood.
each model is on a different page.

Tip : The lighter the wood, like birch or poplar, the more the shadow play with the smoke will pop.

Instruction

1

Step1: prepare the support.

Pick a piece of wood that's nice and dry. Then sand it down really smoothly.

2

Step2: power settings

Place the slice in your machine, adjust the engraving power and speed. Depending on your machine, do some tests first.

The preset settings are only for poplar and ash. For each type of wood, the power and speed vary a bit depending on the result you want.

Even though some harder woods will need more power and less speed (like hash)

Tip: generally, 30-40% power at 120 speed works pretty well for a 20W machine.

3

Step3: marking

Mark the treatment area on your wooden disc

Just in a classic circle, or like in my photo, so the image fills the whole wooden disc.

4

Step4: positioning

  • Copy the marks using the vector button.
  • Place the picture inside the marks.
  • select the marks + the picture
  • click on create a mask, then hit confirm

Now, the picture is readdy for engrave. let's launch it
