Information

A two piece model of a dog. The front ornamental part glues on to the backing for a nice look. Paint it or use different types of wood to add color.

Step1: Prepare parts

Laser cut the parts. You can scale the design up if you wish without issues. Instead of painting you can also use a different type of wood to add color.

Be careful when removing the small cutouts as some parts are quite thin and delicate.

Step2: Paint

Optionally you can paint the model. I decided to paint the front part in white.

Spray paint will likely work best here.

Step3: Assemble

Glue the front part to the backing. Make sure you coat everything for better durability. I recommend you clamp it between two flat pieces to make sure all of the internal small parts make good contact.

Step4: Final touches and adding a base

If you want to stand the model upright you will need to flatten the bottom. Take a strip of sandpaper and drag the model to achieve a completely flat bottom surface. This should be enough to keep it standing.

For a more secure stand, cut out a piece of wood and glue the model to it. I will leave the design of this up to you. It could be a simple oval or rectangular piece.
