Run the first Canvas to engrave the pin itself. The Depth should be around 1,1mm so choose a material thats 2mm thick or more.
Run the second canvas to cut the pin from the material.
ATTENTION!
Adjust the focus down by 1,1mm manually before running it. You will need to watch it occasionally, since I havent found a reliable number of passes, as it seems to depend on size. Run the file until you can see the laser pass through the bottom of the material.
run the separate xcs file to create a spot for your pinback to rest. Adjust the size to fit your pinback.
Use a wire brush and sanding paper 400-2000grid to get rid of the oxide
I used a hot plate and some low temp solder paste to solder the pinback on, but you can use glue instead.
Use some enamel paint to color in the pin. I used Tamiya enamel paint. Cover up the pin to avoid dust settling while hardening. A bobby pin or a needle helps move te color into the tight corners. It will pool and flatten on its own, so just make sure to cover the walls.
if you happen to overpaint the frame, worry not.
Just let it fully harden, and run it face down over sandpaper or clean minor dots with a toothpick soaked in thinner.
